True lies was a action spy comedy on CBS which regretably got cancelled after its one season. It was a blast to work on, although one of the most challenging shows I’ve done, with tons of cool graphics, like renderings, interesting props, and a whole boat-load of tac vans.
I got to work on Fox television’s “Monarch” TV series about a family of country music legends as secrets and drama unfolds. Although regrettably cancelled, it featured some fantastic original songs and covers interspersed throughout, performed by the cast of talented musicians and singers, including Susan Sarandon and Trace Adkins, Anna Friel and others. There were lots of interesting things to work on especially including lots of renderings and previz to help sell the stage setups and motion graphics.
The third and final block of the first lady featured Elanor Roosevelt, played by Gillian Anderson. This one took place earliest in the series and was used to frame the other two in the form of letters being passed down from first lady to first lady. This one once again had some amazing sets and opportunity for great vintage design and recreations.
This is block 2 of the First Ladies, starring Michelle Pfeiffer. Set from the 1930s to the 60s and 70s, it was very interesting doing all the research and recreating the look of the various periods. We were liberty to recreate many things as accurately as possible, which was a blast.
This is the first of three blocks for an amazing showtime tv series about notable first ladies throughout history. This one featuring Michelle Obama. There was lots of interest here, of not lots of large convention graphics, some detailed dimensional seals. The production designer Tony Fanning was great to work with and the art directors were all top notch. It was an excellent experience, albeit an extremely intense one.
Growing up I have long been a fan of musicals, and I couldn’t have been more excited to join the art dept of an excellent one starring Ben Platt, with songs by Pasek and Paul. It was an amazing experience with a truly great art dept, and I couldn’t have been happier with the results. I ‘ve posted some selections here, but as always there’s more behind the scenes that didn’t make it in!
A year ago I had the pleasure of working with some talented Graphic designers on a few side-projects for various networks. Although it wasn’t for very long in each instance, I had a blast and got to make some interesting work! I’ve included a bunch of portfolio items from each below!
Got to work with the excellent Jeff Sage again on this Melissa McCarthy film, originally slated for a fall 2019 release, but ended up coming out Nov 2020. A romantic comedy about a super intelligent general AI trying to understand the upside about humanity. Very fun film with some beautiful sets.
After 8 years these years I finally finished my Bartop arcade-cab I designed! The limiting factor when I first cut the wood for this project is that some of the parts were too intricate to hand-cut easily, but I finally has a way to do them when I bought my Shapeoko 3 XXL CNC machine. This build has over 16 CNC parts.

Here’s a cool CNC kids chair and drawer combo I designed and built. I used our Shapoeoko 3 XXL CNC machine and routed everything from 1/2″ Burch Plywood and 1/4″ birch for the drawers. Everything was made with custom tab joinery so no drilling was needed, just glue. I’ve sat on these chairs, so they’re pretty strong and they were just perfect for our kids table! I’ve included various steps along the way, including concept sketch, Sketchup images, rendering, CNC cuts, assembly and final product!
