Growing up I have long been a fan of musicals, and I couldn’t have been more excited to join the art dept of an excellent one starring Ben Platt, with songs by Pasek and Paul. It was an amazing experience with a truly great art dept, and I couldn’t have been happier with the results. I ‘ve posted some selections here, but as always there’s more behind the scenes that didn’t make it in!
Got to work with the excellent Jeff Sage again on this Melissa McCarthy film, originally slated for a fall 2019 release, but ended up coming out Nov 2020. A romantic comedy about a super intelligent general AI trying to understand the upside about humanity. Very fun film with some beautiful sets.
In my adventures in learning Rhino 3D I made a few small projects to get a better understanding of the program, and construction in general. Overall I’m pleased with the results, and I’ve gained an appreciation of the program, despite it’s flaws. Here’s a rendering of our guest room, with lights and furnishings:
Here’s a small lean-to style shed design for our backyard. We haven’t started building it yet, but should soon hopefully. I also designed the framing to make sure we had thought through the whole build process. I think it’s waaaay over engineered, so I may redesign with smaller wood dimensions before building.

I designed this small home for my sister who was interested in the idea of small living. I designed it as a learning project to get a better grasp of Rhino and V-Ray and it worked well! I now have a fairly solid understanding of the programs and feel comfortable and speedy in the workflow. It was a blast to create and I hope they get to build something like it in the near future!
I also got the chance to perform a lot of pre-visualization and mock-up set renderings on Naked. They were very helpful in getting set designs approved and getting everyone on the same page with regards to the set plan.
I got the privilege of assisting with art direction on Netflix’s 2016 film “Naked” starring Marlon Wayans. I got to design several sets and pieces of scenery, one of which was the elevator that’s featured in the beginning of many scenes. Designed in Sketchup and drawings in layout.
